Celtic are not expected to proceed with a move to bring in Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Balazs Toth before the transfer window closes.
The Bhoys have been in the market to add more competition for shot-stopper Viljami Sinisalo, with a number of options under consideration at Parkhead.
Celtic’s desire to sign a new goalkeeper is well known and agents and intermediaries have been in touch with the Scottish giants to offer them a host of players.
Toth has been a key target for Celtic, though they have also looked at cheaper alternatives.
Celtic made another recent check on Toth’s status at Ewood Park, with an asking price of £4m put on the head of the Hungarian.

It appears though that a move to bring Toth to Scotland will proceed, with journalist Alan Nixon writing on X: “Don’t think Celtic go any further with this one…”
Celtic recently suffered a big disappointment with an exit from the Champions League, but still have the Europa League to sink their teeth into.
In the Europa League league phase, Celtic face games against Ferencvaros, Benfica, Celta Vigo, Besiktas, Torreense, Omonia Nicosia, Marseille and Union SG.
Despite missing out on Champions League cash, Celtic are still active in the window and looking to make additions.

They look poised to sign PSV Eindhoven youngster Joel van den Berg, with a move for the Dutchman to Glasgow classed as imminent.
With Celtic having been criticised for a lack of squad depth contributing to their Champions League exit, Martin O’Neill will be keen to beef up his group before the window closes.
Domestically, Celtic still look in firm control and have won all three of their three Scottish Premiership games so far this season, as they look to remain at the top of the tree.
