Corinthians lost 3-1 to Fluminense at the Maracanã on Wednesday night, then saw midfielder Allan sent off. Coach Dorival Júnior criticised the incident, which followed an obscene gesture identified by VAR.
According to Meu Timao, the red card came in the second half for a gesture towards the home bench after video review. Moments earlier, Allan had been booked following a flare-up with Lucho Acosta.
Dorival said he did not agree with how it happened, adding he would understand a dismissal arising from a footballing challenge, but not in this manner. He said Allan knows he erred and that the team were harmed by losing an important player. He believes the matter will be discussed internally.
Left-back Matheus Bidu was also cautioned, his third booking, and will miss the Internacional match alongside Allan.
Dorival can call on Raniele to replace the number 29, with the midfielder available after serving a one-match ban for his third yellow picked up against Flamengo.
The result leaves Timão 11th on 10 points. Depending on other results this round, they could edge towards the relegation zone. Corinthians host Internacional on Sunday at the Neo Química Arena at 19:30 in the 10th round of the Brasileirão.
