Corinthians midfielder Breno Bidon has highlighted both the benefits of the recent league break and the influence of head coach Dorival Junior as the team prepares for a crucial series of fixtures, according to UOL.
Speaking to Corinthians TV, Bidon explained how the interval in the Brazilian football calendar—brought on by the Club World Cup—provided the squad with a chance not just to rest, but to reset with focused, competitive training sessions. “We know we had a period of vacation, without matches, but I believe we rested well. Now that we've returned, we've had good practices, competitive ones. I think we’re well prepared to play on Sunday (against Red Bull Bragantino),” Bidon said.
The midfielder was quick to credit Dorival Junior for sparking improvement, especially during this concentrated stretch. “His training sessions are very good,” Bidon emphasized. He added that the team has shown clear progress: “I believe the squad is evolving a lot. This break also really helped us improve. Some things we weren’t managing during games, things we were getting wrong, we’ve now been able to work on and have improved a lot.”
Corinthians finished the second phase of their mini pre-season on Monday, after ten days of training. With preparations entering their final stage, the team sits tenth in the Brasileirão, having earned 16 points from ten matches.
Looking ahead, July presents a packed schedule for the club. After facing RB Bragantino, Corinthians are set for away trips to Ceará and São Paulo, home meetings with Cruzeiro, and a visit to Botafogo. At the end of the month, all eyes will be on the high-stakes Copa do Brasil round of 16 first-leg at home against rivals Palmeiras, a fixture set for July 30.
Bidon's remarks reflect a sense of optimism and belief in the work being done under Dorival, an important signal as Corinthians enter a pivotal spell in their season.
