Dortmund chief Ole Book identifies Frankfurt's Baum as Couto replacement | OneFootball

Borussia Dortmund have reportedly set their sights on pursuing Eintracht Frankfurt prospect Elias Baum as of today, Thursday 30 July. 

According to Sky Germany's information, BVB sporting director Ole Book is interested in bringing the full-back to the club. 

Book proposed Baum as a potential replacement in the event of a Yan Couto departure during an internal meeting.

The 40-year-old chief knows the full-back very well from his time at SV Elversberg, where the Frankfurt native played on loan.

In that successful 2024-25 season, where Elversberg narrowly missed out on promotion, Baum shone with eleven goal involvements.

Furthermore, Baum is extremely versatile in his playing style and can therefore play both at left-back and at right-back.

However, Frankfurt are generally not keen on letting Baum leave, with new coach Adi Hütter said to be a big fan of the U-21 international.
