Dortmund on the verge of signing Japanese youth international | OneFootball

Takato Yamamoto is set to join Borussia Dortmund from Gamba Osaka, according to Ruhr Nachrichten.

The German outlet reports that the 18-year-old central midfielder will arrive on loan with an option to buy. 

The initial plan for Yamamoto is for him to play for Dortmund’s Regionalliga team.

Due to the number of players on international duty at the World Cup, he's also expected to take part in first-team training during pre-season, as well as Dortmund’s Asia tour from 26 July to 3 August.

A creative and attack-minded No. 8, Yamamoto has made six senior appearances for Gamba Osaka and is a Japan U19 international.
