Dortmund target City starlet Claudio Echeverri | OneFootball

Borussia Dortmund have reportedly made a move for Manchester City youngster Claudio Echeverri, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The German club ended last season in fourth place and are eager to build a stronger squad for the upcoming campaign.

Dortmund have identified several positions to improve, with attacking reinforcements among their top priorities. They have shown interest in Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard.

Echeverri is also on their radar. Serie A outfit AS Roma and Spanish club Girona have been closely monitoring his progress.

Echeverri has the talent to be a future star

The Argentine made his long-awaited Man City debut in May, coming on during their FA Cup final defeat to Crystal Palace.

He later featured in the Premier League and the FIFA Club World Cup, scoring in a 6–0 victory over Al-Ain.

The midfielder is currently recovering from an ankle injury sustained during the tournament.

The former River Plate man is widely regarded as a creative and technically gifted player. He is known for his quick feet, excellent dribbling and ability to keep control in tight areas.

Echeverri often uses feints and body swerves to glide past defenders and open up space. His vision allows him to spot passing opportunities that others might miss.

He combines this with accurate distribution, often playing the right pass at the right moment.

While the injury has paused his progress, Dortmund rate him as a player with significant potential. They believe a full season of regular football could speed up his development.

If the move goes through, the Bundesliga club will hope to benefit from his creativity in the final third.
