Dortmund target Greek wonderkid as Brandt successor | OneFootball

Borussia Dortmund are weighing up a move for KRC Genk's Konstantinos Karetsas, according to Sky Germany.

The German broadcaster reports that the 18-year-old has been identified as the preferred successor to Julian Brandt, who left the club at the end of his contract.

Karetsas is said to be open to a move to Dortmund, but the biggest obstacle is Genk's €35 million asking price.

Karim Adeyemi's impending move to Barcelona, which could see BVB earn up to €29 million including bonuses, could provide the funds needed to complete the deal.

Karetsas provided an impressive 18 assists in 49 appearances for Genk last season, while also scoring three goals.

The young attacking midfielder is a Greek international and has made 10 appearances for his country, scoring three goals and laying on one assist.
