Colin Kazim-Richards enjoyed a dream introduction to management as Crawley Town secured a crucial victory at the weekend…

The former Celtic forward oversaw a 2–0 win against Gillingham, with both goals arriving deep into stoppage time through strikes from Taylor Richards and Tobi Adeyemo.

The result lifted Crawley two points above the League Two relegation places and ended a run of 10 matches without a win, marking a stunning start to Kazim-Richards’ tenure as head coach.

Speaking via Sussex World post-match, the ex-Hoops striker said: “I just said to them inside, they’ve just given me an experience! The men in there and the ladies in there, in terms of the staff and everybody, have just given me an absolute unique experience that can never be taken away.”

“I said to them it’s one of the best feelings I’ve ever had in my career, but it’s one more round. It’s not done. They all mean nothing in the end if we don’t do what we’re supposed to do, and I hope people understand that.”

“It was great to get the win, score two goals, to keep a clean sheet. To keep a clean sheet, that is massive in terms of how this is going because everybody else, or a few other teams picked up results. When we get a nice clean sheet as well, we’re able to build off that foundation.”

Meanwhile, Sebastian Tounekti marked a milestone moment in his international career by netting his first goal for Tunisia in Saturday’s narrow 1-0 victory over Haiti.

It was Tounekti’s ninth appearance for his country since making his debut in 2021, and the strike finally saw him open his account at senior level for Tunisia.

Tunisia are set to feature in Group F at this summer’s World Cup, where they will face the Netherlands, Japan, and the winner of a play-off between Poland and Sweden.
