Denzel Dumfries is out of Inter’s opening game in the Club World Cup against Monterrey, so it is possible Luis Henrique will make his debut from the start.

The Nerazzurri are one of two Italian teams participating in the tournament in the United States of America.

They open their competition against Monterrey in Los Angeles on Wednesday at 02.00 UK time (01.00 GMT).

New coach Cristian Chivu gets his first match in charge after Simone Inzaghi walked away to join Al-Hilal, who are also in the tournament.

Inter will have to do without Dumfries, as the right-sided wing-back sustained a muscular problem in the adductor.

He is certainly out of this first match, then it remains to be seen if he can recover to face Urawa Red Diamonds and River Plate.

Carlos Augusto could switch over to the right flank, but it is entirely possible the Nerazzurri will throw new signing Luis Henrique straight into the mix.
