Melchie Dumornay was named LFFP Player of the Season, a week after taking the UNFP award, while Nantes’ Nicolas Chabot took coach of the year.

The ceremony at Pavillon Gabriel saw all three top nominees, Dumornay, Sakina Karchaoui and Romee Leuchter, absent. According to L'Équipe, Dumornay was preparing OL Lyonnes’ Champions League final against Barcelona on Saturday. Karchaoui was in Cannes, and PSG players were said to have skipped the event in protest at a nine-point deduction over a licence irregularity involving Florianne Jourde, with sporting director Angelo Castellazzi representing them.

Montpellier forward Justine Rouquet, 18, also did the double, taking revelation of the season ahead of Nantes duo Lucie Calba and Mélissa Bethi.

Nantes, beaten 8-0 by OL Lyonnes in the play-off semi-finals, were honoured through Chabot, 31, who finished ahead of Jonatan Giraldez (OLLyonnes) and Sandrine Soubeyrand (Paris FC). Giraldez and Soubeyrand will meet on 29 May in the Championship final.

Paris FC goalkeeper Mylène Chavas was also recognised by the LFFP, repeating her UNFP success. The France international, who returned to the Première Ligue last summer from Real Madrid, beat Christiane Endler of OL Lyonnes, the 2024-2025 winner, and Nantes’ Emily Burns.

If OL Lyonnes win on Saturday, Dumornay could complete a striking quadruple and would then target a first Ballon d’Or. She said a Ballon d’Or would be welcome, but stressed such honours follow team trophies and that her focus is Barcelona as OL Lyonnes will try to do everything possible to win.
