Paulo Dybala will have to remain on the sidelines for the final stretch of the season.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Dybala will undergo tendon surgery on Tuesday in one of Europe’s specialist facilities.

While waiting to return to the pitch, Dybala is ready to take on a new role as a mental coach, effectively becoming Claudio Ranieri’s assistant.

He intends to be present during training sessions, follow the games at the Olimpico and, if possible, all away games, too.

The Argentine striker recently had a direct meeting with the coach, reiterating his desire to remain close to the team.

His contribution will be primarily psychological, to support his teammates during the complex final part of the season, which includes six big matches in nine games.

Once the operation is over and rehabilitation has begun, Dybala expressed his desire to continue his recovery at times other than training, so that he can follow the team from the sidelines together with Ranieri and be a constant point of reference for the group.
