EA Sports gets World Cup winner right for fifth tournament running | OneFootball

EA Sports’ World Cup simulation has correctly picked the champions for the fifth tournament in succession, a run that began with Spain in 2010.

L'Équipe reports that Electronic Arts’ pre-tournament model has also called Germany in 2014, France in 2018, Argentina in 2022 and Spain again this year.

Electronic Arts, the developer of EA Sports FC, formerly FIFA, ran its forecast before the finals got under way.

The company has seen heavy in-game traffic across its football titles since a special World Cup update in early June, with the trophy lifted more than 11 million times in Spain campaigns alone.

Those figures span EA Sports FC 26 on consoles and EA Sports FC Mobile on smartphones.
