City in the Community (CITC), the official charity of Manchester City, has announced a significant new 10-year partnership with EAMAR Developments UK Ltd, strengthening its commitment to empowering healthier futures for young people.

The partnership, spearheaded by Manchester City fan Dr Abdullah Saleh Alnaeem, will provide vital funding for two of CITC’s flagship education programmes – Premier League Primary Stars and City Premier League Inspires.

Through this long-term support, CITC will be able to subsidise participation costs for local primary and secondary schools, removing financial barriers and helping to ensure they remain accessible to those who need them most.

The funding will also support the delivery of a year-end celebration event for City Inspires participants, providing young people the chance to showcase their achievements in front of family and friends.

Dr Abdullah Saleh Alnaeem Chairman of EAMAR Developments UK Ltd., said: “At Eamar Developments UK Ltd, we are committed to creating opportunities that support and uplift communities.

“Our partnership with City in the Community is built on a shared belief in the power of education, sport and wellbeing to inspire the next generation and help young people reach their full potential.”

City in the Community CEO, Mike Geary, added: “We are incredibly proud to be launching this long-term partnership with Dr Abdullah Saleh Alnaeem and EAMAR Developments UK Ltd. Their support will allow us to reach even more young people through our education programmes, ensuring that school cost is not a barrier to opportunity.

“Our City Inspires and Primary School projects play a vital role in building young people’s confidence, aspirations, and future skills, and this new partnership will help us take that impact even further.”

Partnered with the Premier League, and delivered in schools across Greater Manchester, City Inspires is an education programme, which aims to use the appeal of Manchester City and the Premier League to work with groups of secondary school learners who are at risk of not reaching their potential and support them as they move through the education system and early adulthood, giving them the confidence, resilience and skills to succeed.

City in the Community deliver the Premier League Primary Stars (PLPS) programme in schools across Greater Manchester. During these sessions, pupils and teachers take part in national curriculum PE lessons, extra-curricular activities, targeted interventions, educational workshops, social action projects, anti-discrimination sessions, competitions, and teacher CPD events.

CITC coaches work in five schools per week and deliver a full day each week of the academic year to each school. The aim is to use the inspiration of Manchester City Football Club and the Premier League to engage pupils and teachers to help primary school children be active and develop essential life skills.

The programme also intends to improve teacher’s confidence and competence when delivering PE and School Sport, and to increase children’s enjoyment and engagement in this area.

City in the Community uses the power of football and the appeal of Manchester City to engage young people in programmes across three core areas: healthy people, healthy futures, and healthy communities. This latest investment speaks to the charity’s mission of creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for city youth.
