Eduardo Conceição halts Man City move to wait for Barcelona | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have this weekend been afforded some welcome news on the transfer front.

This comes amid the revelation that Brazilian sensation Eduardo Conceição has ‘put the brakes’ on a potential move to England with Manchester City, amid hopes of securing a Camp Nou switch.

Conceição, for his part, is a 16-year-old attacker who has long been making a name for himself as a potential star in the making in his home country of Brazil.

Often referred to by his nickname ‘Dudú’, the frontman is currently plying his trade well above his age bracket, with Palmeiras U20s.

Across the season to date, Conceição has racked up eight direct goal contributions in 13 appearances.

And the talents showcased by the starlet along the way have not gone at all unnoticed across the pond…

A whole host of European clubs have been credited with an interest in Conceição of late, with Manchester City widely understood to have been closing on a deal for his signature.

As alluded to above, however, the Sky Blues have late this week been hit with a setback.

As per a report from journalist Joaquim Piera of Diario Sport:

‘Eduardo Conceição has decided to deactivate the offer of Manchester City, who had placed themselves in pole position to sign him. The player’s professional environment has made the decision to wait for Barcelona, who have already made a move for the player.’

Any Blaugrana deal for Conceição would come with a view to the attacker continuing his development with Palmeiras, before arriving in La Liga down the line.
