Manchester United and Leeds United’s rivalry is one of the most intense in English football.
Still, the two clubs have been involved in several transfers during the Premier League era. Their most recent agreement was for Daniel James, who left Old Trafford for Elland Road in 2021.
Now, the Yorkshire club are trying to sign another United youngster.
According to Football Insider, Leeds United have registered their interest in Manchester United talent Edward Ibrovic-Fletcher.
It is believed that Daniel Farke’s side are considering offering Ibrovic-Fletcher, who was born in Leeds, a deal to move to Elland Road.
The 17-year-old attacking midfielder is a Serbia youth international and a regular in Darren Fletcher’s Under-18 side, having made seven league appearances.
However, Ibrovic-Fletcher is willing to join a new club to “accelerate his development”. United are also open to parting ways with the player this month.
Ibrovic-Fletcher moved to Manchester following a spell with Sheffield United.
United are also working on strengthening their options at youth level, according to a separate report from Football Insider.
It is understood that the Mancunians and Liverpool are “locked in a battle” to sign teenage full-back Yisa Alao from Sheffield Wednesday.
United are in talks with Wednesday and are trying to convince the Championship side to cash in on their exciting prospect amid their financial crisis.
Alao has made four first-team appearances this term. In the first half of the campaign, he competed with United loanee Harry Amass for a starting spot on the left wing. Amass will leave the Owls in favour of a loan spell higher up the Championship.
