Egyptian international faces the biggest crisis of his career

Egyptian international player hit with shock four year ban by CAS as legal turmoil deepens
Egyptian international Ramadan Sobhi faced another crushing blow on Wednesday as the Court of Arbitration for Sport CAS issued four year provisional suspension against him pending final ruling in his ongoing anti doping case.
The decision intensifies the turmoil surrounding the Pyramids FC winger who is already being held in custody until 30 December over accusations of forging official academic documents.
A source at the Egyptian Anti Doping Organization EADO confirmed to AFP that CAS sent an official notice imposing four year suspension on Sobhi while the court reviews the case concerning his tampered doping sample.
The controversy dates back to:
Wednesday’s decision means Sobhi is provisionally banned from all football activity including training & matches until CAS issues definitive verdict.
Sobhi’s lawyer told AFP that the legal team will file appeal with the Swiss Federal Tribunal.. the only body with authority to overturn CAS decisions.
"We will appeal within days. We have new evidence and we aim for full acquittal" Zahran said.
The CAS ruling arrives just one day after the Criminal Court ordered Sobhi to remain in detention until 30 December in separate case involving academic exam fraud.
According to the prosecution:
The court rejected the defence’s request for provisional release and ordered continued detention for all defendants.
With CAS imposing four year provisional ban and criminal case unfolding simultaneously, Ramadan Sobhi now faces the most serious crisis of his career both legally & professionally.
