Eibar set as Terzic’s sixth summer friendly for Athletic in Zamudio | OneFootball

Athletic and Eibar will play a pre-season friendly at Gazituaga in Zamudio on Saturday 25 July at 19:00, the sixth summer run-out for Terzic.

As reported by as.com, Terzic has kept his warm-ups close to Bilbao with Lezama as base, and the furthest trip so far is to El Plantío in Burgos.

The meeting also reunites familiar faces. Jokin Aranbarri, recently appointed Eibar head coach after his spell at Bilbao Athletic, will face several of his former youngsters. Eibar’s ranks include Peru Nolaskoain, Javi Martón, Anaitz Arbilla, Adu Ares and Jon Guruzeta, brother of Guruzeta, all with Lezama links, with Jon having played for Sestao River.

Terzic, the German coach, will be presented next Tuesday at San Mamés. Athletic’s summer slate features CD Derio on 15 July, SD Leioa on 18 July and Sestao River on 22 July, all at 19:30, then Racing in Laredo on 29 July at 19:00 and Burgos at El Plantío on 1 August at 19:00.

For Eibar, this is the fourth confirmed friendly of pre-season. Athletic will be, alongside Deportivo Alavés, the sternest examination. The plan is to add around one more game to reach five, and all fixtures so far are away.

Eibar’s new Azkoitia-born coach will be unveiled next week at Ipurua, followed by medicals, before the first official training session at Areitio on Thursday 9 July. Their friendlies are Alavés on 18 July at the Campo Municipal Óscar De Marcos, Athletic on 25 July, Real Sociedad B on 29 July in Zubieta, and Real Unión on 8 August at Stadium Gal, with some kick-off times to be confirmed.
