El Mala ‘turns down’ Brentford as talks collapse | OneFootball

Said El Mala has rejected a move to Brentford, with the deal now off, according to Bild and Sky Germany.

Earlier on Thursday, Bild reported Brentford had submitted an offer worth €50 million that 1. FC Köln were prepared to accept, then noted the 19-year-old felt the switch was not the right step for his career.

This does not necessarily mean he will remain at Köln beyond the summer, as he appears to be holding out for an offer from a bigger club he considers a better fit.

El Mala is coming off a breakthrough Bundesliga campaign.

He scored 13 goals and provided five assists in 34 games for Köln.
