On January 16, 2024, Daniele De Rossi began a new adventure with Roma, this time as coach. As coach, he reunited with some of his former teammates, such as Stephan El Shaarawy.
However, he remained on the Giallorossi bench for less than a year, as the Friedkins fired him on September 18 of that year.
Genoa had a poor start to the season and decided to change management midway through.
On November 6, the former Roma player began his coaching career at Genoa. The Rossoblu are ready to help him by strengthening the squad in January.
For the January transfer window, De Rossi has set his sights on his former players who were sidelined by Gasperini’s project.
Genoa are quite interested in Niccolò Pisilli and, as reported by La Repubblica, Stephan El Shaarawy.
As for the former, Roma must decide with the manager whether to send him out on loan or increase his playing time.
The situation for the latter is more complex. Despite Gasperini having named him captain, before Bryan Cristante surpassed him in appearances, the number 92 has only played 334 minutes this season. Given his expiring contract and his age (33), his permanence in the capital is not a given.
