Work to redevelop Elland Road is under way after the 2025/26 season ended, a project due to finish in 2030 and lift capacity from 37,645 to 53,000.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, activity is focused around the West and North Stands, with the West Stand ticket office being demolished and the large floodlights removed.

A temporary structure behind the North Stand, expected to host corporate facilities during construction, began going up before the season ended. The North Stand will also be expanded.

Permission for the scheme was granted by Leeds City Council in January. Early site works have included clearing the old Portakabin used by visiting Championship and Premier League teams.

The cabins, supplied by York firm Britcab before the first season back in the top flight under Marcelo Bielsa amid Covid safety rules, had remained in place until now. Photographs by Gerard Binks show the latest progress.
