Leeds United step out at Elland Road for the first time since last season today against RB Leipzig, with format, fitness and selection under scrutiny.
According to Leeds Live, the West Stand and north-west corner remain closed until the first league home game, with Leipzig fans housed in the South Stand for this match.
The friendly will be split into two 60-minute halves, each pausing midway for hydration, to maximise minutes. Expect wholesale changes at the interval.
James Trafford will not feature, though he could be unveiled to the crowd. Noah Okafor could make his first pre-season appearance.
Jaka Bijol toured the United States but did not play because of a knee knock. His inclusion will only be known later, and any minutes could be vital with two weeks to go.
The back three seems set to continue after all three friendlies started that way. How fluid Leeds look when Daniel Farke shifts mid-game, and how Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic fit, will be telling. Transitions have stuttered at times in early friendlies amid rotation and limited fitness.
Gabriel Gudmundsson is expected to miss out after a hamstring issue against Liverpool, on the opposite leg to April’s injury. James Justin should cover on the left and 18-year-old Jayden Lienou may get his first Elland Road outing as Leeds seek a back-up left-back.
