Emerse Faé will not renew his contract and is leaving his role as Côte d'Ivoire head coach, with the deal expiring on Friday.
According to L'Équipe, the 42-year-old is now seeking a new project. He was appointed permanently in February 2024 after guiding the hosts to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, replacing Jean-Louis Gasset during the tournament.
In 2025, at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, the Elephants were eliminated in the quarter-finals by Egypt.
At the World Cup, Côte d'Ivoire progressed beyond the group stage for the first time in their history before losing 2-1 to Norway in the last 32.
It marked their first World Cup appearance in 12 years. Despite a positive record and a rejuvenated squad, Faé will not continue with the national team.
