Emersonn sold to Ipswich Town in record Toulouse sale | OneFootball

Toulouse have sold Emersonn to Ipswich Town, the club confirmed on Wednesday. According to L'Équipe, the fee is around €32m, a record that surpasses Issa Diop’s €25m move to West Ham.

The 21-year-old Brazilian has signed a five-year contract with the Premier League side until 2031. He leaves only a year after arriving from Göztepe SK for €3.2m.

The deal lifts Toulouse’s finances and represents roughly a 10-fold rise on their initial outlay.

Emersonn impressed across his sole season in Ligue 1. Not always a guaranteed starter, he made 31 appearances, scoring seven goals and supplying three assists.

Highlights included delivering Toulouse’s first win in the Rhône against OL since 1966 in stoppage time. He also featured in a Coupe de France semi-final, a 4-1 defeat to Lens, who went on to win the competition.
