Corinthians head coach Emily Lima is using the World Cup break to attend a FIFA mentorship programme in Spain.

According to Meu Timao, she is part of a mentorship project that began last year, bringing together women coaches from several continents. It forms part of FIFA's strategy to increase female representation in high-performance technical roles.

The scheme promotes cultural and practical exchanges between participants. Lima is supported by Iraia Iturregi, a former Spain player and now assistant coach with the national team. The plan is for Iturregi to visit Brazil in the second half of the year to observe Lima's work at Corinthians.

The programme has three main aims, to develop coaches' capabilities, add skills to strengthen their education, and build a support network.

Earlier this year, while unattached, Lima joined another stage of the programme during the Copa das Campeãs in London. Among the mentors is Arthur Elias, Corinthians' former head coach and now Brazil women's manager, who supports the Mexican coach Vanessa Martinez.

Lima took charge of Corinthians in late February, replacing Lucas Piccinato, and has 11 wins from 16 matches since. The squad have 15 days off during the break.

Training is due to resume on 25 June, almost a month before the Brabas' next official match. On 17 July, Corinthians host Ferroviária in the fourth round of the Campeonato Paulista Feminino.
