Crystal Palace, Everton, Leeds United and Sunderland are all interested in Boca Juniors talent Milton Delgado, with an ‘encouraging outlook’ regarding his development.

Still just 20, Delgado has already notched up 21 first-team appearances for Boca Juniors and has also represented Argentina at international level with the Under-20s.

The defensive midfielder has featured on a regular basis for Boca Juniors in the Argentine top flight so far this year, providing one assist, in a draw with San Lorenzo.

Scouts from various European leagues have taken note of his potential and efforts are on to lure him away from Argentina.

There is interest especially from the Premier League in Delgado.

According to Argentine outlet El Intransigente, Crystal Palace, Everton, Leeds United and Sunderland are all keen, with Delgado’s growth being termed an ‘encouraging outlook’ for Boca Juniors this year.

He has become a key player at Boca Juniors though and that has led to a feeling at the club that it is not the right time to let him go.

Boca Juniors expect to see Delgado continue his development, which would also boost his value, and they want to retain him.

They still have the midfielder contracted until the summer of 2029, which means that they hold an advantage in any negotiations.

Juan Roman Riquelme, the president of Boca Juniors, will not sell him for a price less than £11m if things boil down to that, despite the club’s current not-for-sale stance.

The Whites may need to strengthen in the engine room, with Ao Tanaka linked with a potential exit, while Sean Longstaff failed to nail down a spot.

Crystal Palace could represent an appealing destination for Delgado, especially if they win the Conference League, while Sunderland have caught the eye with smart signings.

With Boca Juniors not keen on doing business now, a bidding war between Premier League sides could see Delgado’s asking price pushed even higher.
