Much was made of the atmopshere, altitude and local fans in the build up to the match, however England were able to overcome all the challenges they faced and secured a 3-2 victory.

The first-half was a cagey affair before Bellingham struck in the 36th minute to put the Three Lions ahead. The midfielder found the net again just two minutes later to double England’s lead.

However, the two-goal cushion did not last long, as Mexican star Julian Quinones pulled one back just before half-time. The task ahead of England grew ever harder when Jarell Quansah was shown a red card in the 54th minute.

Nevertheless, England found the net again on the hour mark. After Anthony Gordon was brought down, Kane fired home from the penalty spot.

England’s two-goal advantage was short-lived again. Mexico were awarded a penalty of their own, which Raul Jimenez converted.

Huge pressure was piled on England across the last 20 minutes, but Tuchel’s side were able to weather the storm. They will now face Norway in the quarter-finals in Miami.
