England manager Thomas Tuchel has suggested he will field his strongest side possible for Saturday’s World Cup qualifier against Andorra at Villa Park.
A 1-0 triumph over this weekend’s opponents back in June saw the Three Lions win a third straight match to sit four points clear of Albania at the top of Group K.
However, Tuchel is not taking anything for granted against a team 170 places below his side in the FIFA rankings.
“We will start with the team that we trust and the best team possible for this game, and we will manage the second game,” the 52-year-old said in his press conference earlier today.
“We will not do it backwards and manage theoretically a more difficult away game than a home game. We will not start getting caught up in experiments like this.”
England will follow this Saturday’s game against Andorra with a trip to Belgrade to face Serbia.
Already missing Cole Palmer, Jude Bellingham, Adam Wharton and Bukayo Saka through injury, England have been dealt a further blow with John Stones withdrawing due to a muscle problem.
“Unfortunately, John Stones just left,” Tuchel added. “He came with minor issues, muscular issues, to camp and didn’t progress as we thought and hoped he would.
“So, he left camp this morning because we will not take the risk. Everyone else is available.”
Predicted England XI vs Andorra (4-2-3-1): Pickford; James, Konsa, Guehi, Livramento; J Henderson, Rice; Bowen, Rogers, Gordon; Kane.
