After spending a decade at the club and winning numerous trophies, the German midfielder brought his playing career to an end in June 2024, leaving behind a legacy that continues to resonate strongly with supporters.
Over recent weeks, Riquelme has unveiled the foundations of his proposed sporting structure.
Several well-known names from Real Madrid’s history have already been publicly confirmed as part of the initiative.
Raul Gonzalez Blanco was announced as the candidate’s choice for sporting director, while Fernando Hierro has been identified as the figure who would oversee La Fábrica and help shape the academy’s future direction.

The project has also attracted Iker Casillas, who is expected to take on an important role within the club’s organisational framework.
On top of that, Riquelme recently revealed that Vicente del Bosque would also be involved in an advisory capacity and now, Kroos has emerged as another major target for the presidential hopeful.
Given the respect he commands among Real Madrid supporters, his inclusion would undoubtedly strengthen the appeal of the project.
The former midfielder’s emotional farewell at the Santiago Bernabeu remains fresh in the memory of many fans, making any potential return to the club a significant talking point.
