Enzo Barrenechea could be edging closer to leaving Benfica this window, with Valencia monitoring his situation and a move to Spain gathering momentum.
AS reports that the Argentine midfielder is willing to return to Valencia, where he has played before, and that his stance could ease negotiations in the coming weeks.
Benfica are open to a departure, either a permanent transfer or a loan with an option or obligation to buy, and aim to recoup a significant part of their investment after signing him from Aston Villa.
That outlay rose to about 15 million euros, triggered by performance-related clauses.
Any exit could shape the 2026/27 squad, with Manu Silva expected to be assessed by Marco Silva in pre-season and increasingly well placed to remain in the group.
He played 2,967 minutes in 2025/26, scoring two goals and providing one assist. He was among the most used midfield options for much of the campaign and is valued at 12 million euros.
