Chelsea completed a comeback from 2-0 down to win for the first time in the Premier League thanks to Enzo Fernández's 95th-minute winner.

The Hammers were the best of the two teams early on in the game taking the lead in the seventh minute after Aaron Wan-Bissaka got past former teammate Alejandro Garnacho to find Jarrod Bowen. The England international whipped in a cross that looked to be aimed in the direction of Taty Castellanos but instead found its way into the corner of the net.

Chelsea were struggling down the flanks with Garnacho in particular having a poor half. The situation wasn't helped in the 26th minute when Jamie Bynoe-Gittens had to be replaced by Pedro Neto.

A deserved second goal came in the 36th minute with Wan-Bissaka pulling the ball back to the edge of the D with Crys Summerville running onto the ball and firing it past Robert Sánchez.

The half-time whistle was greeted by boos from the Stamford Bridge faithful which led to Liam Rosenior making three changes at the break as Marc Cucurella, Wesley Fofana and João Pedro – the hero against Napoli – all came on.

Those changes appeared to do the trick for a much-improved Chelsea with both players vital into getting the Blues back on level terms.

João Pedro reduced the deficit after a scooped cross from Wesley Fofana was headed in at the far post by the Brazilian.

Then it was 2-2 in the 70th minute after Malo Gusto headed back across goal with Max Kilman managing to prevent a goal initially by heading the ball out off his own bar only for Cucurella to be in the right place to level.

Both sides had chances to win it late on with Jean-Clair Todibo hitting the post from close range meanwhile Matheus Fernandes made a crucial block to deny Cole Palmer.

But it was Chelsea who won the game in stoppage time after good work from João Pedro who decided to square the ball instead of shooting which teed up Enzo Fernández to complete the comeback.

As the Blues looked to see out the game there was a late shoving contest with debutant Adama Traoré shown a yellow card for a push on Cucurella. VAR had the unviable task of wading through the melee which resulted in Todibo getting a red card for putting his hands on the throat of João Pedro.

Regardless, it was the Blues who took all three points to go up to fourth in the table, something that was hard to imagine at half-time.
