Enzo Fernandez to Liverpool could actually be real. Reports suggest the Chelsea star could move.

Enzo Fernandez could leave Chelsea in the summer. That's the line from WinWin, who report there's growing interest in the Argentine and a real belief that he may move.

The suggestion is that Enzo is very open to moving and that's alerted a series of clubs. Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, the usual Saudi Pro League contenders, as well as 'two' clubs from England have inquired about his availability.

Now, there are a very small number of English clubs who could actually sign Enzo. Manchester City may be one of them but Liverpool feel like a near-certainty.

This, after all, is a summer in which Liverpool will assess their midfield. We've already seen phase one of that with the new contract for Ryan Gravenberch.

The Reds are also in talks with Dominik Szoboszlai, while it seems as though Alexis Mac Allister is a candidate to leave. His father denied any talks with Liverpool, despite his contract expiring at the same time as his teammates.

The club didn't sign midfielders in 2025 but addressed virtually every other position instead. It will be looked at in 2026 - and if Enzo is available, Liverpool will almost certainly look to make a move.

He's one who got away, after all. Enzo was heavily linked with a move to Anfield back in early 2023, only for Chelsea to blow everyone else out of the water with a British-record bid.

But now? Enzo is a Premier League proven, Argentina international and someone who could be a perfect fit going forward for Liverpool. We would be absolutely shocked to learn they're not one of the two clubs asking about him.

Enzo Fernandez: Situation Summary

Transfer Speculation

Reliable reports, including from Gaston Edul, indicate that Fernández is considering a "new leap" in his career. While he is contracted until June 2032, several European giants, including Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, are on high alert. PSG is reportedly in constant contact with his representatives, viewing him as a key addition if Chelsea fails to secure Champions League football. Real Madrid also sees him as a primary target to bolster their midfield. Despite the noise, Chelsea management currently considers him "irreplaceable" and would demand a fee significantly higher than the €121 million paid in 2023.

Season Performance

Fernández has enjoyed an outstanding 2025/26 campaign, recording 12 goals and 6 assists in 44 appearances across all competitions. He has been a fixture in Liam Rosenior’s side, often wearing the captain's armband. Statistically, he remains elite in ball progression, ranking highly for touches and successful passes. He recently scored and provided an assist in a 5-2 Champions League loss to PSG on 11 March.

International Outlook

He remains a vital component of the Argentina national team. Fernández is expected to be a key starter for Lionel Scaloni as Argentina prepares to defend their title at the 2026 World Cup, beginning with their debut against Algeria on 16 June.
