On July 10, 2024, Roma officially signed Enzo Le Fée from Rennes for just over €20 million.
The French midfielder was Florent Ghisolfi’s first solid signing.
A little over a year later, however, both men are no longer registered with the Roman club.
The midfielder left the capital after just six months. Sunderland signed him on loan with an option to buy, and today the Frenchman is shining with the English side in the Premier League. Florent Ghisolfi followed the same path, making way for Frederic Massara.
Under Régis Le Bris, the 2000-born player is enjoying one of his best seasons.
In December, he collected two goals and three assists in 1,220 minutes. The Frenchman is close to his most prolific season: six goals and five assists at Lorient in 2022/23.
After the victory against Newcastle, Le Fée recalled his time with the Giallorossi. “I’m a football player. I don’t want to sit on the bench; I want to play. And I wasn’t happy at Roma. Before leaving, I told my family that I knew the manager (of Sunderland, ed.) and that the project he had proposed to me was valid. So I just want to go there and help the team reach the Premier League.”
He then added: “I knew everything about the club; it didn’t take me long to feel at home.”
