Pedro Neto and Alejandro Garnacho have made themselves Enzo Maresca’s first choice wingers this season, and they’re both starting to deliver in terms of goals and assists.
Neto has 6 goals and 3 assists in 19 starts, Garnacho has 4 and 2 in 10. Both are already on course for a major improvement on last season. Both are hard workers and good off the ball, but now seeming to be adding more of a clinical edge too.

In his press conference today, Enzo Maresca spoke a little bit about working with attackers to get more out of them:
“The only thing we can do is just to try to service the players,” Maresca said.
“We can do that day by day, trying to do extra sessions. We do many, many sessions with the wingers, with the strikers, in the last third, just to try to improve that. Garna [Alejandro Garnacho] is one of them. Last year, I don’t know, the one that we had, the five attacking players. And the target is always the same, try to improve the players.”
The wingers have had to step up because both Joao Pedro and Liam Delap have had disappointing starts to the season, and Cole Palmer has been out. The Chelsea boss has done great work with the wingers – hopefully he can do the same with his strikers.
In his comments on the Enzo Maresca situation, Jamie Carragher claimed the likely cause of the coach’s unhappiness was the situation around Levi Colwill in the summer.
Carragher had already spoken about Maresca’s comments earlier in the programme, making it clear that it was obvious who he was talking about when he said he felt a lack of support.
