Enzo Maresca has insisted he’s happy with Filip Jorgensen, but refused to rule out the goalkeeper leaving in January.
Jorgensen joined Chelsea from Spanish side Villarreal in a deal worth £20.9m in the summer of 2024, but has struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.
The Dane has played second fiddle to Robert Sanchez for the majority of his time at Stamford Bridge, bar a brief spell last season.
Jorgensen has made just five appearances in all competitions this season, with only one of those coming in the Premier League.
The Denmark international has aspirations of being the number one at the World Cup next summer, but knows that won’t happen if he stays at Chelsea.

Jorgensen has stated he wanted to leaves for more regular game time, but any departure would mean Chelsea need to bring a replacement in.
It’s believed Chelsea don’t want to let Jorgensen go as they don’t want to change their goalkeeping options mid-season, and Maresca has now spoken about the 23-year-old’s future.
“We are happy with Filip,” he told journalist Kieran Gill.
“But at the same time, they all want to play. And if they don’t play, they are not happy.
“We’ll see what happens in January.”
Whilst Jorgensen faces an uncertain future, one keeper who seems destined for a bright future at Stamford Bridge is Mike Penders.
The 20-year-old is currently impressing on loan at Strasbourg, and Chelsea are thought to believe he’s a special talent.

Penders is developing well at Strasbourg, and is clearly viewed as a future number one, it’s just down to when Chelsea feel he’s ready to make the next step.
The improved form of Robert Sanchez has certainly helped, and if he continues his good form then Chelsea could have the luxury of allowing Penders another season to develop in France.
