Erick and Rodrigo Nestor suspended for Bahia’s trip to Coritiba | OneFootball

Bahia will be without Erick and Rodrigo Nestor for the trip to Coritiba in round 17 of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

According to Globo.com, both midfielders collected their third yellow cards in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Grêmio and will serve automatic suspensions.

Starter Erick was booked 33 minutes into the second half for a tactical foul on Gabriel Mec to halt a Grêmio counter.

Nestor, who began on the bench, was cautioned in a similar situation, also for a foul on the Grêmio No 37. Following that incident, Nestor and Mec clashed, and the Grêmio player ended up on the turf.

The ban ends Erick’s run of four consecutive starts. In his absence, the likelihood is that Jean Lucas returns to the line-up after remaining on the bench for the full 90 minutes against Grêmio.

The match at Couto Pereira kicks off at 20:00 Brasília time on Monday.
