According to Sky, VfB Stuttgart forward Ermedin Demirovic has rejected Galatasaray and plans to remain in Germany rather than move to the Süper Lig.

The Bosnian wants to re-establish himself with the Swabians next season despite new competition from Dzenan Pejcinovic, and he feels settled in the squad and the city.

Galatasaray’s proposal was lucrative, a three-year deal worth more than €15 million net. A €20 million fee was discussed with Stuttgart, €18 million guaranteed plus €2 million in bonuses.

Agreement on the precise terms could not be reached, so Demirovic has pulled the plug and informed the club he does not wish to move.

Only an exceptional offer before the deadline could reopen a transfer, which is not currently expected. Competition up front also includes Germany striker Deniz Undav and Jeremy Arevalo.

Demirovic came through youth systems at HSV and RB Leipzig among others, and joined Stuttgart from Augsburg two years ago for €23 million. He produced 16 goal involvements in 25 Bundesliga matches last season, earning a World Cup call-up. Bosnia exited against co-hosts the USA in the round of 32, and he missed only four minutes across four matches.
