“Especially now” – Estevao reveals why he’s now even more “excited” to join Chelsea | OneFootball

Estevao Willian is set to train with his Chelsea team-mates for the first time on August 4th, and he’s revealed what’s made him even more excited to join the club.

Chelsea agreed a deal worth up to £51.4m with Palmeiras last summer for the teenager, who is widely regarded as the biggest talent in South American football.

Estevao scored against Chelsea in the Club World Cup quarter finals, but the Blues prevailed with a hard fought 2-1 win.

Estevao Willian excited to play in the Champions League

Estevao has previously spoken on how he’s been anxious to join Chelsea, and supporters could see him for the first time next week against either Bayer Leverkusen or AC Milan.

Chelsea are said to believe Estevao is a generational talent, but the Blues need to ensure they provide the right environment for him to develop in, and don’t put too much pressure on him from the get go.

There’s rightly a lot of excitement surrounding his arrival, and the Blues fought off competition from a number of Europe’s top clubs.

Estevao has been discussing his imminent arrival at Stamford Bridge in an interview posted on his Instagram, and he’s revealed what’s made him even more excited to join the club.

“Man, I can’t wait, seriously, to wear a Chelsea jersey, to represent Chelsea, you know?, he said.

“Especially now that there’s the Champions League, there will be important championships, the Premier League.

“I can’t wait, I’m so excited.”

Estevao isn’t the only young Brazilian who’s set for a key role in the squad next season, with midfielder Andrey Santos now amongst the ranks after returning from Strasbourg.

Santos made his long awaited debut at the Club World Cup despite signing for Chelsea in January 2023, and the midfielder is going to provide much needed depth in the middle of the park.

The 21-year-old faces a tough task displacing the likes of Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, but with a long season ahead, the youngster will no doubt get many opportunities to show what he can do.
