Christian Bracconi steps in as interim for Espérance de Tunis

Espérance Sportive de Tunis has handed the reins of its first team to Christian Bracconi, just a day after the dismissal of Maher Kanzari.

The Beb Souika club issued a statement announcing that the assistant technical director will serve as interim coach until a new manager is appointed.

The French coach will oversee training sessions and will be on the bench for the 6th matchday of the CAF Champions League group stage CAF Champions League clash against Petro Luanda at the end of the week.

The Blood and Gold need at least a draw in this encounter to secure their spot in the quarterfinals, as they currently sit second with a better goal difference than the Angolan side.

Recall that Maher Kanzari was relieved of his duties on Sunday evening following an away defeat to Stade Malien (1-0). That loss complicated the team’s quest to book a place in the quarterfinals of the competition.
