Manchester United do not plan to reintegrate Andre Onana in their squad for next season once he returns from his loan spell.
The Premier League giants spent £47.5 million to buy the goalkeeper from Inter Milan in the summer of 2023. However, he endured two torrid campaigns at Old Trafford.

Onana committed costly howlers on a recurring basis, prompting Man Utd to send him away in the summer after securing a replacement in Sanne Lammens.
Luckily for United, Lammens has proven to be an excellent purchase and a reliable presence between the sticks.
Meanwhile, Onana has been playing his football in Turkiye, particularly at Trabzonspor. Although he has had his highs and lows, most observers would consider his loan stint as largely positive, especially when compared to his time at Carrington.
Nevertheless, with his Turkish stint coming to an end in a few weeks time, the Cameroonian’s future remains up in the air.

According to ESPN journalist Rob Dawson, MUFC don’t intend to include Onana in their plans for next season.
Therefore, the custodian will only temporarily return to Carrington in the summer, as he must find himself a new club.
In recent weeks, Trabzonspor’s president expressed his desire to keep Onana at the club beyond the current campaign, but it remains to be seen if his club can afford the deal, and whether the player would be open to extending his Turkish experience.
Dawson believes that the biggest hurdle Man Utd must work around is Onana’s hefty salary. It should be noted that the absence of Champions League football reduced the goalkeeper’s salary this season, but it will increase next term again, as the club has secured its place in Europe’s elite club competition.
With the club set to complete on multiple fronts next season, United certainly need another reliable shot-stopper within their ranks alongside Lammens.
Altay Bayindir hasn’t been particularly convincing, and he could be on his way back to Turkiye this season, with Besiktas reportedly keen on his services.
Nevertheless, Onana has committed so many blunders in his two years that he lost all support from the hierarchy and the fanbase.
Therefore, if the Cameroonian is still determined to climb his way back to the top, he will have to do it elsewhere, as the Man Utd ship has long sailed.
However, finding a buyer willing to match the custodian’s salary remains the issue. The former Ajax man has a contract with MUFC valid until June 2028.
