According to several Brazilian media outlets, Olympique Lyonnais is seriously considering extending the loan of young Brazilian prodigy Endrick, currently on loan from Real Madrid, after a particularly convincing start in a Lyon shirt.
Yesterday, Sunday, the 19-year-old striker was one of the main architects of his team's emphatic 5-2 victory over Metz in Ligue 1. With a sensational hat-trick, Endrick became the youngest Brazilian player in history to score a hat-trick in one of Europe's top five leagues.
This first hat-trick of his professional career was achieved at the age of 19 years and 189 days, allowing him to break the record previously held by his compatriot Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima, who scored his first European hat-trick with Inter Milan at 21 years and 146 days old during the 1997-1998 season.
According to ESPN Brazil, Lyon head coach Paulo Fonseca has asked the club's management to explore ways to keep the player for a longer period, impressed by his immediate impact and attacking efficiency.
Since his arrival, Endrick has featured in three matches across all competitions for Olympique Lyonnais. He has scored four goals and provided one assist, totaling five goal contributions.
The young Brazilian international's loan runs until next June, while he remains under contract with Real Madrid until 2030.
