Essende leaves Augsburg for Young Boys in confirmed transfer | OneFootball

Augsburg said in a statement that DR Congo striker Samuel Essende has joined Swiss Super League side Young Boys with immediate effect.

The exact transfer fee was not disclosed by the club.

Essende, 28, arrived from Vizela in June 2024 and went on to play 50 competitive games for the Bavarian club, scoring 12 goals.

Sporting director Benni Weber said Essende sought a new sporting opportunity and that the club worked with him to find a solution that suited both parties, which proved to be the move to Switzerland. He thanked the forward and wished him success.

Essende said he had given his best for Augsburg and needed a project where he could develop, enjoy time on the pitch and score goals. He thanked the FCA fans for their support and wished the club well for the rest of the season.
