The Europa League’s league phase has concluded after eight rounds, with Lyon leading the standings as Nice slumped to 33rd and Lille securing a play-off spot. There were few major shocks, and Porto, Aston Villa, Betis Seville and AS Rome all finished inside the top eight. The headline exits were Feyenoord and Rangers.

According to L'Équipe, the eight through to the last 16 are Lyon, Aston Villa, Midtjylland, Betis Seville, Porto, Braga, Freiburg and AS Rome. Lyon and Aston Villa are seeded until the semi-finals.

Seeded in the play-offs are Genk, Bologna, Stuttgart, Ferencvaros, Nottingham Forest, Viktoria Plzen, Red Star Belgrade and Celta Vigo.

Unseeded in the play-offs are PAOK, Lille, Fenerbahçe, Panathinaikos, Celtic, Ludogorets, Dinamo Zagreb and Brann Bergen.

Eliminated after the league phase are Young Boys, Sturm Graz, FCSB, Go Ahead Eagles, Feyenoord, Basel, Salzburg, Rangers, Nice, Utrecht, Malmö and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The play-off draw takes place on Friday at 13:00, when the path for Bruno Genesio’s men and the 15 other qualifiers will be set.
