European leagues, champions crowned, promotions and relegations confirmed so far

As 2025-26 nears its finish, key verdicts are in across Europe. According to L'Équipe, titles are settled in Germany and Italy, while promotions and relegations are taking shape.
In Germany, Bayern Munich wrapped up a 35th title on 19 April with a 4-2 win at Stuttgart. Schalke 04 have secured a return to the top flight after two seasons in the second tier.
In England, Manchester City and Arsenal remain in the title race. Wolverhampton and Burnley drop to the Championship. Frank Lampard’s Coventry City, second-tier champions, and Ipswich Town are promoted.
In Spain, Barcelona are close to a 29th title with an 11-point lead over Real Madrid. No club has yet been mathematically promoted or relegated.
In Italy, Inter Milan clinched a 21st Scudetto with a 2-0 win over Parma on Sunday. Pisa and Hellas Verona are relegated. Venezia return to Serie A after last season’s drop.
In France, the title remains undecided. Metz are relegated. Troyes have been promoted, with one more place to fill.
PSV Eindhoven sealed a third straight Eredivisie with five matches left, and Heracles Almelo go down. ADO Den Haag and SC Cambuur are promoted.
In Portugal, Porto won a 31st title on Saturday by beating Alverca 1-0, finishing ahead of a Benfica side still unbeaten this season. AVS are relegated, and Maritimo will return to the top flight three years after dropping into Liga Portugal 2. In Switzerland, FC Thun became champions for the first time, a year after promotion.
