Manchester City are expected to receive renewed interest from Everton in Jack Grealish in the summer transfer window, as per a new report.
Grealish is approaching the end of a season-long loan at the Hill Dickinson Stadium but has already bowed out of the 2025-26 campaign after undergoing surgery on a stress fracture to his left foot sustained in January.
The 30-year-old left Manchester City for Everton last summer after struggling for regular playing time under Pep Guardiola during the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons, having played a monumental role in the Blues’ historic 2022-23 treble-winning campaign.
However, Grealish is not expected to be re-integrated by Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium after his loan ends and will look for a permanent exit from Manchester City this summer.

The Toffees have an option to buy Grealish on a permanent basis at the end of the season for £50 million, though reports indicate that figure is not set in stone and is negotiable.
Manchester City will want to get Grealish off their wage bill given the England international does not feature in the club’s future plans, with the Sky Blues still covering one-fourth of the winger’s salary in Merseyside.
City have also revamped their attack under director of football Hugo Viana and are bracing themselves for another busy transfer window, with several senior stars likely to leave as they approach the end of their respective contracts.
Grealish is under contract at the Etihad Stadium till 2027 and City will be looking for a permanent sale this summer to avoid the risk of sanctioning another loan and potentially losing the three-time Premier League winner for nothing next summer.
Grealish is out for the season and is not expected to prove his fitness in time to be in the conversation for England’s squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
According to fresh claims, Everton are confident they can secure a deal for Grealish under £40 million before the summer’s marquee international football tournament gets underway across the Atlantic.
No contact with Jack Grealish since Manchester City exit, admits Pep Guardiola
City’s desperation in wanting to get Grealish off their accounting books could tempt Viana and co to settle for a reduced selling price for the club’s most expensive signing, whom they bought from Aston Villa for £100 million in 2021.
Whilst there are not a dearth of suitors for Grealish in the Premier League and across Europe, few clubs would be able to match the Birmingham-born star’s salary demands and after an eye-catching spell on loan at Everton, it is likely that the Manchester City forward puts pen to paper and commits his future to the Toffees.
