Everton are considering paying the sum required to sign Chelsea’s Tyrique George following a promising loan spell at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, per the Daily Mail.

The Toffees took George on loan as he struggled for playing time at his parent club, and Jack Grealish suffered a season-ending injury.

While he didn’t record any goals or assists in the Premier League for Everton, he has shown immense promise, especially when coming on from the bench.

The 20-year-old is dynamic and exciting, earmarking himself as one to watch for the future. Now the ball is in Everton’s court.

Everton can decide to pull the trigger by paying the £25 million fee the Blues want.

David Moyes’ side is considering whether to do it, well aware that other clubs are ready to pounce if they do not take the opportunity.

It remains unclear what the Toffees will decide, as they have to be careful with funds after being asked to pay Burnley £35 million for the impact of their financial rule breaches.

Everton would be wise to think carefully before committing £25 million to George.

The talent is obvious, but output still matters, and the Toffees need players who can make an immediate difference in the final third rather than simply offering potential.

At that price, there are arguably better-value options on the market.

One name Everton should be looking at is Bazoumana Toure, who provides the kind of cross-heavy threat Moyes loves.

The highly-rated left-footed Hoffenheim winger bagged five goals and nine assists in 30 Bundesliga appearances this term.

He possesses blistering pace, excellent one-versus-one ability and the kind of end product that Everton need. His ceiling is just as high, if not higher, than George’s.

Then there is the Grealish situation. If a loan move is an option again, Everton should be first in line.

A left flank featuring Toure’s explosiveness and Grealish‘s creativity would instantly give the Toffees far more threat and unpredictability.
