Everton are not looking to offer a new deal to centre-back Michael Keane.

The 31-year-old joined the Toffees from Burnley in the summer of 2017 and has made over 220 appearances for the club.

Everton have 13 players out of contract at the end of the season, and Patrick Boyland of The Athletic claims that the defender is unlikely to be offered a comparable deal.

Keane earns around £80k-per-week, and he is one of the highest earners at the club.

The Toffees defender has scored two goals in nine games in the Premier League this season. He has a contract until the end of the season, and there is a high chance he could leave for free.

Crucial phase in Everton’s history

The Toffees are on the verge of moving to a new era under a different owner.

The Friedkin Group have already purchased 94% shares from Farhad Moshiri and they are waiting for the official green signal from the Premier League.

They have a transparent business, unlike the 777 Partners, and they are expected to complete the entire process by the middle of December.

Everton will also move into a new stadium at the Bramley Moor Dock next season, there is a huge excitement among the fans.

However, the focus should once again be on staying in the Premier League.

The Toffees have been very poor in recent weeks under Sean Dyche, and he could be sacked once the Friedkin group take full control of the club.

At the moment, it is difficult to predict how the new owners will approach the transfer market and which players they will look to tie up on a new deal.

Considering Keane’s age and wages, Everton probably will let him go for free.
