Everton have opened talks with Manchester City to discuss a season-long loan deal for Jack Grealish.
The England international did not join Manchester City for the FIFA Club World Cup this summer as he explores an exit from the Etihad.
Grealish struggled for a regular role last season, starting just seven times in the Premier League, and is keen for increased game time ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
Everton have now approached City to discuss a potential loan deal for the 29-year-old, according to The Athletic. David Moyes’s side are hopeful that Grealish’s interest in remaining in the North West can convince him to move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
A potential deal has been described as ‘complicated’ but discussions are underway between the sides. Everton are desperate to add quality and numbers to their squad before the club’s Premier League opener at Leeds United on August 18th.
Grealish joined City in a British record £100m deal from Aston Villa in 2021 and has won three Premier League titles and the Champions League among his honours.
However, he fell out of favour last season and City’s attacking options have been further bolstered by the summer arrival of Rayan Cherki.
