Wolves will be hoping to make a few additions to their squad ahead of the transfer deadline.
Wolves have had a slow start to the transfer window, so it could be a hectic final few weeks at Molineux as Cesar Peixoto looks to reshape his squad.
The new boss inherited a group stacked full of quality at this level, but fans were expecting more of an overhaul following their dismal relegation last season.
To their credit, Wolves have already done some fantastic business by securing deals for Kieran Trippier and Raul Jimenez, and the duo are certain to play huge roles this season.
However, there is still a lot of business to do, and the immediate priority will be shifting players from what is a very bloated squad.
That should free up space and funds to make a few additions, but, pleasingly for Peixoto, he has an XI right now that should still be able to compete for automatic promotion.
Nevertheless, there are a few areas to address, and here we look at how Wolves’ dream XI could look when the deadline has passed…

It was widely expected that Jose Sa and Sam Johnstone would leave in the summer, so the fact they both remain at Wolves is problematic for the club.
If Sa does stay, he could be a capable number one at this level, but it feels like he could benefit from a fresh start, so if either of those two depart, then the club could be in the market for a keeper and Derby County’s Zetterstrom fits the bill.
He is proven at this level, he is hitting his peak years, and with his deal at Pride Park expiring in 12 months, he could be available for a decent price.

Right-back has been an issue for Wolves since the reliable Nélson Semedo left, but the signing of Trippier is a massive coup for the club.
At 35, Peixoto will have to manage his minutes, but Trippier is going to be a regular for Wolves this season, and it would be no surprise if he had the captain’s armband for most of the campaign.

Peixoto has implemented a high line since his introduction, so Mosquera’s pace has been crucial to the way that Wolves play.
The Colombian international has been prone to rash mistakes in the past, but he has plenty of attributes to be a top, top player at this level, and playing in a back four with someone like Trippier could be just what he needs to show consistency.

This wouldn’t be a new signing, but it would be a massive boost for Wolves if they could keep the Czechia captain at the club.
Even now, it feels like a long shot, but, if Krejci is committed to the club, he would arguably be the standout defender in the league, and his composure and ability on the ball would be crucial to the way the club builds play from the back.

In truth, Wolves have two quality left-backs at this level in Hugo Bueno and Wolfe, and most fans would probably have no problem if either started, even if the Norwegian international struggled on Friday night, although it was his first game since the World Cup.
But, keeping both seems unlikely given their quality, so Bueno should be the one who gets the nod. The Spaniard offers a bit more going forward, and the fact he is a homegrown player also works in his favour, and he could become a big player for Wolves this season.

Most expected Andre to be among the first to leave after Wolves’ relegation, so it was brilliant for the club that he agreed a new contract to stay.
The Brazilian international should be among the best players in the league, and he is another that Peixoto will be relying on this season. He will be the deep midfielder in the 4-2-3-1 formation, and he will try to set the tempo with his quality on the ball.

Wolves are looking to sign James, and he is the ideal profile for what they need alongside Andre, as he is powerful, will be given a license to get forward, and he scores goals.
Marshall Munetsi is the current starting player in that role, but the Welsh international is a major upgrade in terms of his technical ability, so this would be a statement signing if they can get it over the line.

Rodrigo Gomes has the potential to be a very good player this season, and he will certainly play a big part for Peixoto.
But, Wolves need another option on the right flank, and Dibling could be available on loan, as Everton have Iliman Ndiaye and Brennan Johnson for that position.
So, a loan may be what he needs, and playing in Peixoto’s fast, attacking style of play could be what Dibling needs to get his career going after a difficult first year on Merseyside.

If Edwards had stayed at Molineux, it felt inevitable that Lopez would leave, so he has been the big winner from Peixoto’s arrival, and he is going to be central to what Wolves do this season.
The Portuguese head coach has given Lopez freedom in the number ten role, where his superb technique and ability on the ball makes him a fantastic watch.

The youngster was a rare positive for Wolves last season, and there is a hope that Mane will be a standout player in the Championship.
He is willing to take risks on the ball, he is exciting to watch, and whilst he must improve his decision-making in the final third, Mane has the talent to make his mark at the highest level if he continues to develop, and this season could be huge for him.
