Iliman Ndiaye, who has been playing for Everton for the last 12 months, has made such an impact with his performances that even the big clubs of Europe are now paying attention to him. In Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Keith Wyness said that the club recently turned down an offer from a big European club.
The offer was around £40 million, but Everton immediately made it clear that they would not let the player go right now. Wyness said that Ndiaye is very happy at the club right now and is living his football to the fullest while playing at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Ndiaye performed well last season, but his performance looks even more impressive in the current 2025-26 season. He now has players like Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall around him, who are pulling the defenders towards them, and Ndiaye is getting more space. This is improving his game and strengthening the team’s attack.
Wyness believes that this partnership has given a new direction to Everton’s offensive strategy. He also said that if Ndiaye continues to play like this, his value can reach £80 million by next summer. The 25-year-old winger’s role for Senegal was very effective. Now the question is whether Everton will use this opportunity or make Ndiaye the centre of their future.
He said, “There are a couple of things that would mean I don’t think he’d really want to move at the moment.
“I can see that he’s really enjoying his football. With Dewsbury-Hall and Jack Grealish, it’s giving Ndiaye space. Jack’s attracting two people, and so he’s attracting defenders away from Ndiaye, who is probably just as dangerous.
“It seems as if they’re really enjoying themselves. They’re starting to strike up a great relationship. So, from the football side, he’s very happy with where he is.

“Last year, he was probably the one carrying a lot of the creative load. Now he’s got another couple of players there that can also be just as creative, and they’re a real threat, so I think he’s enjoying that.
“At £40m, I think we’ll see by the end of this season, you’d be looking at £80m, double his current value if he were to go. He is a real talent and I think he’ll really start to show up this season. I think his value will double for all the right reasons, football reasons.
“He was right to stay and I think he’s really enjoying himself. Just as long as everybody stays injury-free, we’re looking forward to an exciting time at Everton.”
Now the question comes whether Everton should sell Ndiaye with such a big offer or keep him in the team. If the club is looking at long-term goals, then it is clear that retaining such a player is very important.
Especially when his understanding with Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is becoming excellent, and this partnership strengthens Everton’s hopes to perform well. According to a report in Liverpool Echo, Ndiaye himself has said that he dreams of winning trophies with the club, especially at the inauguration of the new stadium.
However, on the other hand, an amount like £80 million is not easy to ignore. If the club is under financial pressure or wants to strengthen several positions at once, such a big offer can change plans. This is the situation where the emotions of football and the reality of the transfer market collide.
Meanwhile, Everton made several moves in the summer transfer window, and their strategy was also discussed a lot. Fans also noticed that Everton want to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and this is an attempt to add depth to the squad. Everton’s decisions in this summer window had a big impact on the direction of the team, and it was clear that the club is on the path of changing its identity.
In the end, it can be said that the issue of Ndiaye is not just about a player leaving or staying, but it will determine the picture of Everton’s coming years. If the Senegal winger stays, the club’s strength will increase; if he leaves, then many positions in the team can be revamped with the money. This is why fans are keeping an eye on this entire development.
