Barclays Women’s Super League

Everton 3-0 Crystal Palace

Everton went ahead late in the first half, when Justine Vanhaevermaet headed home a Sara Holmgard corner between two Palace players on the goal line.

The same two Toffees combined again from another corner before the break but goalkeeper Shae Yanez got down quickly to turn the ball of the line.

It was 2-0 just 23 seconds after the restart, Kelly Gago’s cross met by Holmgard to glance a header into the bottom corner.

Moments later at the other end, Katie Stengel was caught in the penalty area by Vanhaevermaet but the penalty decision was then reversed.

Deep into added time, Gago collected a ball over the top, cut inside a defender and clipped a shot beyond the keeper for 3-0.

The result lifted Everton above Spurs into seventh spot and left Palace bottom by a point from Aston Villa, who now have a game in hand.

Barclays Women’s Championship

Blackburn Rovers 1-1 Bristol City

Blackburn Rovers were pegged back by Bristol City but picked up a precious point in their bid to stay up.

Rovers’ Tyler Toland curled an effort in from distance seven minutes after the restart, to open the scoring at Ewood Park.

The Robins were back level midway through the half, as Ffion Morgan got in behind to place a header into the corner of the net.

Mari Ward had the ball in the net for City approaching the last ten minutes but the goal was disallowed.

The draw moved Blackburn two points off the bottom and goal-difference above Portsmouth, fifth-placed Bristol City trail leaders Birmingham City by nine points with four games to go each.
